Combining a team of local ambassadors and a modern digital platform, WiKer references and collects local data to facilitate access to local information.
In this way, we encourage local residents to get out, get involved and consume locally in order to support the sustainable development of small town centre
GoalsOur objective is to bring the inhabitants closer to the actors of their territory by encouraging them to consume, go out and invest close to their homes.
We now cover hundreds of municipalities and our objective is to continue to develop our coverage at the national level as well as to improve our tool and our local impact.
Contexte (territory issues, targeted audience)The closure of shops in rural areas is leading the municipalities into a negative spiral. Indeed, the disappearance of services accentuates the drop in the number of visitors to town centres, which is detrimental to other local players.
There are, however, many events, activities and services organised by associations and businesses. Our objective is to facilitate access to this information in order to encourage residents to go out and consume as close to home as possible in order to revitalise small town centres.
The site is 100% free for associations and operates on a freemium model for businesses and local authorities. It is aimed in particular at municipalities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants.
Actions implementedOur concept collects data available on all local media: website, application, APIs, flyers, municipal display, social networks, open data sources, collaborative publications (+400 associations, +700 contributors)...
All of this information is then organised geographically and thematically to make it easily accessible to local residents, but also to residents of the surrounding municipalities.
Each platform is led by local ambassadors, who are paid and in charge of moderating, disseminating, promoting and creating links with local players.
