The rural Lab
Short presentationThe CARTON PLEIN association is located in the premises of a former partly unoccupied holiday center to develop a rural laboratory. The goal is "to think about the means to be implemented to recreate a local collective dynamic aiming to decide on a common future. Our desire is to believe that the villages are inventive, alive and must have opportunities to take part in the common purpose".
GoalsBring, through artistic and cultural projects, "freshness and energy to boost a virtuous circle of transformation".
Specific objectives :
- develop projects on the territory, experiment, enhance the landscape and the inhabitants
- welcoming people and diverse eyes to the residence
- rely on all local resources to do things together, to encourage people to meet.
Contexte (territory issues, targeted audience)The village center of Job has, like many other village, been partially emptied of its activities. If the population has gone from 1,400 to 1,000 since 1950, it has now stabilized: employees of the many factories in the valley, retirees in search of tranquility, people who come to the countryside to seek a better quality of life, secondary residents ...
A new diversity of population, partly attracted by an inexpensive habitat and a pleasant quality of life, invented new ways of living and participated in the crossing of cultures.
The codes transmitted from generation to generation are not explicit, which sometimes leads to misunderstandings. The welcoming culture advocated by the territorial political authorities is struggling to fit into the DNA of the villages.
Actions implementedThe project first developed in the commune of Job and then spread to neighboring municipalities, in the Community of Ambert Livradois-Forez municipalities, in the territory of the Livradois-Forez Regional Natural Park, depending on the subjects, meetings and opportunities ...
Types of activities: residence, workshop, meetings, experimentation around the landscape and the territory ...
> Project "Job, long live the holidays!" : investigative work in the borough of Job on the history of its numerous reception facilities which are currently vacant: air, health resort, hotel-restaurant, summer center ...
> Project "Playground": natural and landscaped routes between towns and large landscapes.
> Strong involvement in the transformation of the Utopia Station in Vertolaye, project carried out with the community of municipalities at Moulin Richard de Bas.
