Fun and sensory garden in Ploeuc-L’Hermitage

France Bretagne

Short presentation

In Ploeuc-L'Hermitage, a playful and sensory garden is a delight for young and old.

1. Create an additional tool to maintain the senior's physical functions (endurance, flexibility, balance...)
2. Create a multi-generational meeting place in a pleasant setting by offering rest areas (outdoor furniture), cultural activities (outdoor exhibition, readings, concerts, Breton music group) and gardening activities (planters, aromatic and/or vegetable garden, fruit trees, butterfly area) with residents and children as part of the TAP (Extracurricular activity time).

Contexte (territory issues, targeted audience)

The municipal council came up with the idea for this project, based on the observation that there was not really any outdoor living space for the residents of the EHPAD. The original idea was to be able to offer a pleasant outdoor meeting place for residents and their families. The municipality does not have a health path on its territory. Finally, the opportunity for the municipality to acquire a large plot of land of 2000m² in the immediate vicinity of the EHPAD made it possible to launch the project.
A working group was then created to work on the project and the idea of a multi-generational sensory park was born.

Target audience:
- Large public (especially the elderly and children)

Actions implemented
