BRICOBUS: DIY and community work
Short presentationIn connection with the Pass'Réno and with the support of the Val d'Ille-Aubigné, the Compagnons Bâtisseurs Bretagne association launched the Bricobus, a construction truck which intervenes for home improvement work for people with modest income residing in the community of communes.
GoalsOur main objectives are to improve the housing of families in difficulty, to promote citizenship, volunteering and community life, to initiate and support residents in building techniques and to participate in the quality of life. collective and associative neighborhoods.
Contexte (territory issues, targeted audience)In partnership with local actors (local authorities, local representatives of the State, social landlords, family allowance funds, associations and foundations) we support people in their self-rehabilitation project supported by different operating methods:
- Self-rehabilitation accompanied by neighborhood workshops for tenants of private or public parks;
- Self-rehabilitation accompanied by owner-occupants;
- Housing resource spaces or solidarity workshops.
- Self-rehabilitation accompanied in the direction of co-owners for the common areas of small co-ownerships
- One-off and original actions
Actions implementedLabor, limited to 10 days of construction, is free (financed), and materials, for a maximum amount of € 1,000, are 90% covered.
The inhabitant, or possibly his or her entourage, participate in the work, accompanied and supervised by a technical facilitator from Compagnons Bâtisseurs, helped by volunteers in Civic Service and sometimes by volunteers.
The Bricobus also offers to support owners and tenants of the private park, when there is a social, technical and / or economic difficulty, or an administrative blockage, through technical advice and the loan of tools, both free.
