Albanyà is a Spanish municipality in the Alto Ampurdán region in the province of Gerona, Catalonia.

Parc Bassegoda is a small campsite located in Albanyà (Girona), a municipality with less than 150 inhabitants. Its privileged position allows you to contemplate one of the most beautiful night skies in Europe. Located at the entrance to the Alta Garrotxa Area of Natural Interest in the Empordà, with miles of forest and mountains, Albanyà is a starry night oasis.

Actions implemented

The Albanyà Observatory is fully automated and has state-of-the-art astronomical equipment, in which the largest telescope in the province of Girona stands out. In 2015, the Bassegoda Park became the first camp on the Iberian Peninsula accredited by the Starlight Foundation. It also has the recognition of the IDA (International Dark Association).
