Contexte (territory issues, targeted audience)El Pobo is a locality in the province of Teruel. It has an area of 63.60 km² with a population of 110 inhabitants and a density of 2.08 inhab / km².
Escorihuela is a locality in the province of Teruel. It is located about 30 km away from the capital (Teruel). Has a population of 136 inhabitants.
Actions implementedThe municipalities of El Pobo and Escorihuela, through cooperation measures between individuals, have valued the territory and the use of endogenous resources by creating facilities for the practice of paragliding and Hang Gliding.
It is the first space of these characteristics in the province of Teruel. The conditioning of the landing and take-off areas was carried out, as well as a parking in the areas and information panels with notions about the safe practice of this sport. It is also installed in small meteorological stations that can provide information on atmospheric conditions and make flights that can be consulted online.
With this project, the height of Mount Hoya Alta and its clear scrub area have been taken advantage of, thus providing the sierra with new activity that can attract specialized tourism, revitalizing the area, as well as bringing to the facility a company of instructors of flight.
